Policy Provisions
1. Grading System

The grading scale used in a course is at the discretion of the faculty, but must be clearly stated at the beginning of the course in the syllabus. If alterations to the grading scale are made the students in the course should be informed.

A grade of an “I” is given for incompletion of the course. It is used only in cases of unavoidable circumstances that permit the student from completing the coursework within the allotted time period. Responsibility for completing the work must be assumed by the student. An “I” is calculated as an “F”. The grade will be changed to an “F” at the end of the semester following that in which it was earned unless a grade is submitted by the instructor prior to this time for completion of coursework.

A grade of “W” indicates the student withdrew during the first four weeks of the semester before a pass/fail status could be determined.

A grade of “WF” indicates the student is failing at the time of a withdrawal. A “WF” counts as “F” when computing GPA.

A grade of “WP” indicates that the student is passing at the time of withdrawal. It does not affect the GPA.

A grade of “AU” indicates that a course has been audited.
