1. Faculty Working Environment and Support

1.1 Office and Professional Support

The following are provided by Cumberland University to enable faculty to conduct their professional responsibilities effectively.

1.1.1 Faculty Office Space and Furniture

The University provides an office, furniture, and support material and equipment as appropriate and approved by the School Dean.

1.1.2 Administrative Support and Student Support

Administrative Support must be coordinated. Faculty requesting administrative assistance should allow sufficient time for the task well in advance of the deadline for completion. Student assistants are available for faculty upon request to the Office of Student Financial Services. All requests for student assistance should be submitted on forms provided by the Director of Student Financial Services.

1.1.3 Books and Supplies

Textbook orders are handled through the University Book Store. Orders for equipment and supplies must be processed through the School Administrative Assistant and approved by the School Dean and by the Vice President for Academic Affairs.

1.1.4 Academic Regalia

All members of the Faculty and the Administrative Staff will wear full academic regalia for graduation exercises and other formal academic occasions. The University pays the rental expenses. Arrangements for this attire can be made through the University Bookstore. Faculty members should place on file and keep current the following information: height, weight, cap size, highest earned degree, and the institution where the highest degree was earned.
