1. Faculty Credentialing

All Faculty Credentialing must originate with the Dean of the School in which the hire is to occur.

2. Curriculum Vitae

All faculty candidates must submit curriculum vitae with their application for hire.

3. Academic Transcripts

All candidates for faculty positions are required to bring copies of their transcripts (unofficial are acceptable) to the on-campus interview. The School should make copies of these to retain for use when following hiring procedures. If a candidate is not offered a position and/or does not accept an offer of employment, these should be destroyed to ensure maintenance of personal information confidentiality.

4. Certification of Faculty Credentialing Form

Deans must submit to the Director of Human Resources the completed Certification of Faculty Credentialing form with the dean’s signature, a curriculum vitae and transcripts (unofficial are acceptable) with the Request to Hire form.

5. Request to Hire Form

The Request to Hire form will be routed as follows: Director of Human Resources, Associate Vice President for Academic Affairs, Vice President for Academic Affairs and then to the President. This process will ensure that candidate’s credentials meet student learning outcomes.

6. Credentialing Packet

Upon the approval from the President the credentialing packet will be sent to the Office of Human Resources.

7. Human Resource Role in Faculty Appointment

Following acceptance of the faculty appointment by the candidate, the Office of Human Resources will request official transcripts and complete the documentation with final signature by the Director of Human Resources. All forms will be converted into electronic format for storage. Access will be restricted by the Office of Human Resources and the Office of Academic Affairs. Original paper copies will be stored in the Office of Human Resources.

8. Updated Curriculum Vita

All faculty, including adjunct faculty who serve for more than one year, are required to update the curriculum vita annually and file the update with the Director of Human Resources.

9. Instructional Assignment Outside Area

In the event that a faculty member, full-time or adjunct, is considered for an instructional assignment outside the are for which he/she was initially credentialed, the process must be repeated.
