MAT 420 Complex Variables

A complex variable in mathematics is a variable that can take on the value of a complex number. Complex numbers can be visualized as points on the unit sphere in -space via projections. Topics include complex numbers, complex functions and differentiation, the complex integral, Taylor and Laurent series, mappings by elementary functions, residues and poles; some applications. Prerequisite: MAT 201 and MAT 240 or permission of the instructor.
