Policy Provisions

1. Personal Property

Cumberland University assumes no responsibility for loss or damage to personal property or money regardless of the cause of such loss or theft including fire, vandalism or maintenance failure. Resident’s personal possessions are not insured in any way by the University. The residents are encouraged to identify and insure any valuable personal items. All instances of personal property endangerment or unauthorized types of behavior should be reported immediately to Security and/or the Director of Residence Life.

Cumberland University will not store personal possessions. No storage space exists on campus for students.

Property left in the hall after check-out shall be declared abandoned and becomes property of the University, will be discarded at the discretion of the Director of Residence Life, and fines associated with the removal assessed.
