PSY 364 Psychopathology in Child&Adol

This course offers an introduction to the understanding, assessment, and diagnosis of major psychological disorders common in childhood and adolescence. Emphasis will be placed on the etiology, prognosis and prevalence of the major mental disorders recognized by the American Psychological Association. Students will learn the core concepts and theories, and also be exposed to the basics of treatment, historical underpinnings, issues of diversity, and the ethical concerns in the area of child psychopathology. Prerequisite: successful completion of PSY 101, PSY 110, or PSY 111 with a C or better. Offered as needed.
