POS 212 The Politics of Education

This course provides an overview of the politics of education, including the politics surrounding issues of desegregation, standardized testing, and school funding. Educational politics throughout the history of the United States will be discussed, but particular emphasis will be placed on issues that have occurred since the mid-1950's. The politics of education in urban areas will be a special focus.
