SCI 200 Fundamentals of Science

This course is a continuation of SCI 100, and will serve as the scientific foundation for Special Education and Childhood Education non-science concentrators as a science laboratory course designed to address the New York State Education Department science and technology standards in biology and earth science for children in grades 1-6. Students will utilize concepts and processes taught in the classroom and in a laboratory setting for the purpose of problem solving in a problem-based workshop. A three-hour lab and one-hour workshop will be held at times separate from the lecture. The completion of SCI 100 and SCI 200 will satisfy the 8-credit hour science sequence for Special Education and Childhood Education non-science concentrators. Prerequisite: SCI 100. Lab fee. This course may not be taken pass/fail. (L09)
