SEE 249 Prin & Proc Eff Behav Mgmt

This course is designed to provide the candidate with principles and practices of pupil behavior management. Emphasis is placed upon those classroom management techniques that will enhance both individual and group learning in a safe and well-organized environment. Interventions will be presented that assist the teacher in providing positive learning environments that support students? academic and social skills development. Candidates will develop and implement a functional behavioral assessment and design a behavior intervention plan for one student who has significant behavioral issues. One credit is earned through a required 18 hour field experience. Prerequisite for Childhood Education-Special Education Majors: SED 146. Co-requisite or Prerequisite: SEE 245. Prerequisite for ASPIRE Majors: SIE 146, EPY 243. Fall, Spring.
