TEC 350 ComputerAided Manufacturing

This course provides a comprehensive survey of the technical topics related to computer-aided manufacturing. Course content will include interactive computer graphics, numerical control, computer process control, robotics, group technology, computer-integrated production management, and flexible manufacturing systems. The laboratory will provide hands-on experience in programming, setup, and operation of CNC machine tools. Upon completion of this course, students should be able to demonstrate use of computerized systems to produce discrete parts, be familiar with basic CNC programming and machine tool operation, understand integrated CAD-CAM systems, and have a basic knowledge of computer-integrated production management systems. Course fee. Prerequisite: TEC 210. Offered every other Spring.
