ATE 470 Student Tchg: Applied Tech

This field course is a one-semester full-time student teaching placement in two settings. The first will be in an elementary or middle school setting and the second will be in a high school setting. During the first week of each placement, students will complete 20 hours of field experiences which will involve the analysis of home, school and community relationships and dynamics and analysis of instructional strategies and techniques used by teachers to manage classrooms. These observations will be done under the supervision of the College of Saint Rose student teaching supervisor. Students are expected to demonstrate competencies as indicated in the Applied Technology Education Student Teaching Handbook. Application must be made by February 1 for the Fall semester; by October 1 for the Spring semester for a student teaching placement. Prerequisites: good standing in the School of Education; required GPAs (2.75 in education, 2.25 in technology courses; 2.25 overall); grade of C or better in every education course; completion of education sequence, completion of Substance Abuse Education, Violence Prevention Workshop, Child Abuse and Abduction Prevention Workshop, and HIV/AIDS and Communicable Diseases and Safety Education Workshop.
