BIO 111 General Biology I
This entry-level course is designed to familiarize the student with the basic concepts necessary to understand the biology of specific organisms studied in other courses, as well as provide pre-professional students a basic background for specific disciplines (nursing, physical therapy, etc.). Principles of cell structure and metabolism, such as mitosis, genetics, respiration, photosynthesis, and protein synthesis, will be emphasized. Prerequisite for most upper level biology courses and will satisfy the GEC requirements for graduation. Three hours of lecture.
