MUS 456 Voice Class for Contemp Singer

The course will focus on building skills suitable for Contemporary Commercial Music (rock, musical theatre, pop, country, jazz, indie, and gospel) styles of singing. Students will learn about the voice as a functioning instrument. Students will gain knowledge of how the voice functions scientifically through study of the anatomy of the vocal mechanism, posture, respiration, resonance and vocal health in the application of CCM singing. CCM singing and performance will be developed through exercises in resonance, mixing, belting, diction and an exploration of mic technique, artistic expression and song study.
