ART 103 Studio Drawing

This College in the High School course provides an introduction to skills necessary to effectively translate visual perception in a two-dimensional language through a focus on drawing. It mirrors methods that develop the motivated student's ability to understand perspective, trust in direct observation and recognize drawing as a means of acquiring knowledge. Students will engage with the rigor of a studio course that sustains a structured dialogue between ideas and processes, and provides opportunities for exploration with media. Emphasis will be placed on skill building while students are encouraged to create work that reflects personal interests. Evidence of successful completion of course objectives will be demonstrated in the level of proficiency found in the student's final portfolio. Students who successfully complete the course will earn general elective credit applicable towards a College of Saint Rose bachelor's degree. Materials fee is required.
