AHI 102 Art & the American City

An examination of urban art and architecture in the United States. Topics may include New York art in the 20th century, architectural theory and the city, contemporary urban art, or public art and urban visual culture. Students will learn to analyze the form (visual aspects) of a work of art with respect to its cultural context. May include a Saturday trip to a New York City museum; transportation will be covered by course fee. Open to non-art majors only. No prerequisites. (L05)
