HLA 560 Law and Higher Education

A study of the legal areas, issues and challenges which higher education administrators encounter in implementing policies and programs offered at colleges and universities, including the study of federal, state and local laws that govern the actions of institutional leaders in the higher education setting. Topics include the governance of higher education, academic freedom, affirmative action, and legal issues pertinent to interactions between faculty and students. Three graduate credits are offered in this HLA elective course.
