Policy Provisions
1. Summer Residence Policy

1. During the summer months, the Office of Residence Life has a limited number of spaces, which for a fee, can be provided to any Cumberland University student who meets certain criteria.
2. An online application will be made available to students during March and April for summer Residence Life spaces. Applications will be due by the close of the business day on April 30.
3. Students may apply to live on campus through the Office of Residence Life, provided that space is available , if they:
a. Have been enrolled in the immediate, past semester
b. Have not had major judicial infractions
c. Have verified reason to be on campus
i. Enrolled in summer classes
ii. Working for the institution – must be verified with a department
iii. Have summer internship – must be verified by the Director of Career Services and Internships
4. Any student who does not meet these requirements will have their application submitted to the Dean of Students on their behalf for consideration
5. Any student academically suspended/dismissed following the spring semester will not be allowed to stay on campus during the summer.
6. Students must be official for the summer session, have a payment plan in place, or have their entire summer residence life balance paid by the Friday before spring graduation with the Business Office in order to stay on campus during the summer. Any student moving on campus during the summer (not immediately following the spring semester) must meet these same requirements before receiving keys.
7. As stated in the Cumberland University Student Handbook, all rules and regulations regarding residence life and living on campus apply during the summer period. This includes but not limited to deposit requirements, payment and distribution of keys, and all social regulations.
