2016 Undergraduate Catalog

NUR 301 Dosage Calculation

This course will introduce our nursing students to the mathematical processes necessary for safe and accurate dosage calculations in the clinical setting. Safe medication administration practices are also reviewed. The students will also have some "hands-on" learning with equipment used in medication administration. The nursing implications of drugs that are commonly given in the clinical setting will be reviewed. The skills learned in this class will be used in subsequent courses, as dosage calculations are incorporated into almost every course in the Nursing curriculum.
