MATH 110 Mathematics for the Liberal Arts

This course is a general survey of a variety of mathematical topics at the introductory level. It is intended for students majoring in a liberal arts field and not in the sciences nor in other fields requiring advanced mathematical training. Topics to be covered may include, but are not limited to: mathematical logic; sets and counting; probability; statistics; geometry; algebra; the finance of loans, interest, and annuities; or other topics of interest. This course does not count toward the Mathematics major. Students must have a minimum of 22 on the ACT mathematics sub-score to enroll in this course.

ACT mathematics sub-score of 22 or higher OR a satisfactory score on the Cumberland University Mathematics Placement Test OR a grade of "C" or higher in MATH 098
