HIS 304 Introduction to Public History

This course will assist students in determining what is meant by the term "public history", how (or if) public history differs from traditional academic history, and how both public history and academic history inform and complement one another. This course will also expose students to career opportunities and specialties within public history. Students will come away from the course with a broader knowledge of the historian in society and an understanding of the issues facing public historians in today’s world.
