HCA 433 Informatics in Nursing

(Online Health Care Administration and RN to BSN Programs only) This course is designed to introduce the student to the specialty area of informatics. Hardware, software, databases, communication applications, computer developments and associated legal and ethical issues are addressed. Students will learn how the field of informatics is used to manage and communicate data, information, and knowledge in nursing clinical practice, administration, education and research. Additionally they will learn how nurses can assess, develop and use nursing information systems to work more efficiently, allocate resources more effectively, and improve patient care.
