ED 427 Methods and Materials for Secondary School Art

Preparation for teaching Art in grades 7-12 for those seeking teaching licensure for Art Education. Emphasis on program development based on knowledge of the secondary level school student, curriculum, lesson and unit plan development, classroom organization, classroom management strategies, age appropriate lessons and materials, budget planning, job interviews, and observation of art teachers working in the public school system. The class will explore career opportunities in both schools and community art settings through field observations. Field Experience Required.
