ENG 101 English Composition I

This course introduces students to the basic processes by which we order our perceptions of the world. The course begins with exercises in narration and description, moving to less subjective modes such as comparison/contrast, classification, and definition. Attention will be paid to grammar and punctuation to help students produce correct, coherent writing. Note: Students must stay continuously enrolled in ENG 101 and/or ENG 102 until the sequence is successfully completed to satisfy General Education requirements. Students who are repeating this course or have an English ACT score of 19 and below must take ENG 100 in conjunction with ENG 101. Students must earn a "C" or higher in this course.
