2012-2013 Undergraduate Catalog

iPad Policy

Beginning with the Fall semester of 2011-2012, all incoming full-time, first-time freshmen and nursing students accepted to the nursing program will receive iPads. All iPads are the property of the University. The instruments may not be sold, loaned, or given away. Students who maintain full-time enrollment for one complete academic year may assume ownership of the instrument. Students withdrawing before the completion of one academic year must return the iPad to the University. Failure to do so will add the cost of the instrument to their billing statement and result in a hold on academic records until payment is complete.

Each individual is responsible for the security and maintenance of the iPad. If the instrument is damaged, stolen, or lost it must be repaired or replaced in a timely manner at the expense of the student. Independently obtained insurance is recommended. Any lost or stolen iPad must be reported to a campus official.

Students are responsible for the purchase of all apps. Those required for class will be identified by instructors and must be treated similar to text books. All faculty must accept the usage of iPads in the classroom, but may specify restrictions in their individual iPad policy, located, in their course syllabus.
