CRJ 445 Cyber Law - Applying Law in Digital Forensics

This course is designed to familiarize students with the current legal trends in the arena of digital forensics as it pertains to specific laws relating to the use and or storage of data on various forms of electronic media. The students engage in discussions on the current laws affecting the use of the internet from fraud to intellectual property rights and from cases involving child pornography and human trafficking to current legal aspects of bringing your own personal devices to the workplace. At the end of the course, students will have established a baseline to guide them in their work when dealing with electronic media. This course is a companion course to CRJ 312, Digital Forensics.
